World Trade Bridge – Fast Lane Relocation

ARG Construction completed the FAST lane relocation project at the World Trade Bridge in Laredo, the busiest commercial land port of entry in the United States.

The scope included four concrete pavement approach lanes and two concrete exit lanes, four commercial primary inspection booths with foundations, and two primary canopies. ARG also installed concrete pavement in the secondary inspection areas, constructed a restroom and a security equipment building, and completed the associated utility improvements.

Work at an active port of entry runs under conditions most commercial projects do not face. Commercial traffic does not stop. Sequencing must keep lanes open while crews build the lanes that will replace them, and site access is controlled. ARG planned the work around continuous port operations and coordinated with the agencies operating the crossing.

The relocated lanes are now in service, supporting commercial traffic through the highest-volume freight crossing on the U.S.–Mexico border.
